Buthus occitanus is a scorpion species that belongs to the Buthidae family and the Scorpiones order. It occurs across the Meditarranean (Northern Africa and Southern Europe) and can be found in logs and under rocks. The venom in its sting is strong enough to kill a child, elderly person, or someone who is allergic to the venom.
